Chappell Roan is one of the very few names that I have found extremely talented. The song “Bad For You” might sound odd to metal and rock music lovers at first, but I am sure that many of you do listen to acoustic songs. Acoustic guitar sound itself is an undeniable piece of Rock and Metal Music, isn’t it? Almost every metal band has one or two great acoustic songs that we all admire. And once in a while, acoustic music comes together with an exceptional vocalist, just like in this song. It struck me with its holy atmosphere, and her enchanting voice, so I decided to share it with you as well. You’ll thank me later.

The recording quality in “Bad For You” (the acoustic version) is remarkable. Everything sounds so good, so pure that it directly touches your soul through your ears. I have listened to her other songs in her “School Nights” album as well. But in my opinion, this acoustic arrangement is like her secret weapon where she had the opportunity to offer her beautiful natural voice with the listeners in the best possible way. As you also know, most of the alternative rock bands prefer adding electronic effects or sounds to their music. And it won’t be a mistake to define Chappell Roan’s album as a pop/alternative rock album. She has an amazing voice and talent in singing. But the genre that she chose to make music, puts her on a lane with many brilliant competitors like Lana Del Rey, Banks and more. What I am trying to say is, there are so many great singers who are making the same type of music. However, the acoustic version of “Bad For You” is something different. Don’t get me wrong here guys, but I think she might be the only one with this kind of voice, talent, and style in this type of music. And that would make the world a better place indeed.

Bad For You has a very simple arrangement. Clean jazzy electric guitar with high reverb effect creates the heavenly sound. There might be so many singers who can sing great in this kind of song. For example; extremely talented vocalist of Axel Rudi Pell, that most of the metalheads will definitely know; Johnny Gioely. However, the voice alone does not make a huge difference in singing unless the singer has the ability to write music and sing in her own style like Chappell Roan does. Then it’s extremely unique. The song belongs to Chappell Roan and nobody can sing better than her in her own style (like nobody can sing Amy Winehouse’s songs, better than Amy Winehouse). This is why I mentioned the power of acoustic songs and the advantage that it brings to her. Atmospheric pads, high reverbed clean guitar and Chappell Roan’s magical voice. Nobody can beat this big three.

Ultimately, I have a huge respect for her talent. Chappell Roan has made a great start to her music career and she has a very bright future. We, as Metalhead Community Team, wish her well in her life and looking forward to hearing more acoustic songs from her in future. Thanks for reading.
