Divine Disorder is one of the most special bands that I listened lately. It won’t be possible for me to simplify the reason with few words though. There are many things in my head which brought everything here, to this outcome. They surprised me with their music and their style indeed. As we all know, origins of metal music belong to Western/Northern nations and to their cultures. It is their music. It might be the mentality or their powerful media sources, whatever the reason that might be, but it has always been imaginable for Westerners to become an artist, a professional metal musician. Possibilities to make a living by it, getting themselves a place in the industry and even to becoming an international artist one day. Actually, this is not just an opinion, it’s a fact. On this very day in the year of 2017, it is still extremely difficult to make metal music and have an artist’s life standard in the East. Although there are so many metal fanatics and musicians, which you can look for some Metallica, Guns’n Roses, Slayer, Behemoth etc.. or any other metal festival which was held in the eastern countries as a proof of this, Eastern nations have always had a struggle in creating their own metal heroes in the history.

Nevertheless, we are all the same after all (human beings). And we all have experienced, how culture plays a big role, contributes to person’s life, views, feelings and even to his creativity in time. Look at the most legendary bands from different cultures and nations: USA; Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Manowar, Death, United Kingdom; Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Cradle of Filth, Germany; Scorpions, Rammstein, Accept, Blind Guardian, Finland; Nightwish, Stratovarious, Children of Bodom, Sweden; Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, Opeth, Norway; Dimmu Borgir, Immortal, Burzum, Brazil; Sepultura, Soulfly etc.. What I am trying to say is, the western metal music might sound like “completed its mission” or “started to repeat itself” to you time to time. This is something that we can all realize better when we listen to the bands such as Divine Disorder, Orphaned Land, Mezarkabul, even System of a Down (They are Armenian Americans). The eastern exotic flavor that they bring to this music is coming from their roots. That specific essence still sounds so fresh and definitely needs to have more place in the mainstream metal scene in my humble opinion.

Undoubtedly, Garden of Dystopia is a very successful album. Hands down! Compositions, recording quality, production. It shows great potential for a debut album and unquestionably has its well-earned place in the metal history. I can easily recommend them to every metal music fan. Despite the fact that I do not usually listen to death metal that often, elements that this album offers beside death metal motifs, makes it more interesting and richer indeed.

I have never heard of ” Orchestral Progressive Death Metal Band ” definition before. Sounds pretty challenging to me. I mean, the expectation of the listener will be so high after hearing this genre, that it is almost impossible to give him something satisfying. The same thing happened to me too. But I assure you, after listening to Garden of Dystopia once, I was like “oh man, who the fuck are these guys!?”

As I mentioned above, Garden of Dystopia has much more to offer than to be considered only as a death metal album. Apparently, Divine Disorder have done their homework very well and worked very accurately on this project. Compositions are not standard as expected from a progressive metal band. Every element and every partition have been written, played, and connected to each other very professionally, which makes it worthy enough to compare with the albums of huge names. Also, you can clearly see that they are very skilled musicians. This work requires high level on composing, arranging and technical sufficiency on every instrument.

Songs generally have the same feeling. They absolutely have unity and harmony in their sound on this album. Very aggressive and attack riffs, drop guitar sound, jazzy and progressive guitar solos, exceptional drumming, many additional instruments, Eastern motifs, progressive, death, and power metal elements, brutal and clean vocals etc etc etc… This album is more like a wonder, like a lesson that needs to be examined and taught in every single music school. I personally want to congratulate the musicians, producer, engineer, photographer, coffee maker, and every single person who worked on this project. And I am warning you guys, Divine Disorder might cause addiction.

The most special thing about Divine Disorder is their progressive side in my opinion. It makes them unique and musically more ambitious. The jazzy guitar solo in Enciphered III literally blew me away when I heard that for the first time. And my most favorite song is The Gambit, the ending part especially. Exceptional musicianship… On the other hand, the fact that this is Divine Disorder’s just the debut album (full-length), makes it more valuable but also raises few questions. I mean, it is surely the loss of humanity that we don’t have any other record from these guys for 3 years now. This great product can talk for itself and shows remarkable potential which is more than enough to bring them the right feedback to go for the next. But no worries! I especially asked this question and have been told that they are working for it at the moment.

Consequently, I admit that it is always a great pleasure to listen and write about great musicians such as Divine Disorder. I had a great time listening to Garden of Dystopia while drinking my coffee and smoking my cigarette on this beautiful summer day. I strongly recommend Garden of Dystopia to everyone, especially those who are looking for new influences, and an exotic taste to widen their creativities.
