As many of us, I have heard about Five Finger Death Punch many times before. It might sound odd to you but until last week, I haven’t ever listened to their music before, to be honest. This command came from my brain very naturally and I never tried to go against it and my instincts. There are so many overrated and emo metal bands/projects out there and I am trying to stay away from this bacteria as much as possible. Five Finger Death Punch came on my way couple days ago with their newly released single, Trouble. And it was the luckiest Five Finger Death Punch song that I have had the pleasure to listen to. Well, I guess my prejudiced perspective for the situation has started to change a little bit (but very slowly).

After my introduction with Five Finger Death Punch, I can admit that Trouble is a good hit song with a great production. You can immediately feel the magical touch of the professionals from the industry. Every single detail has been planned very accurately. The overall recording quality is fantastic. Loud, bold and flamed guitars, exceptional vocals and clean drums recording. A perfect example of a great hard rock/metal music balancing, mixing and sound engineering. On the other hand, I personally didn’t like the tone of their drum kit. It sounds more like an electronic drum kit rather than an acoustic one. I don’t think so but who knows? But again, this is just some details, a very personal preference like choosing your favorite color between the same Lamborghini model cars. Just like the overall production in Trouble, top class job.

As I have also mentioned before, Trouble is a good hard rock mainstream hit song. Written, arranged and planned for this purpose. Whenever a very simple arrangement meets the very simple lyrics, it means Fresh Meat for the rock radios. Well, don’t get me wrong here, I do not criticize anything. On the contrary, this is a well planned, successful production. And I respect that. In time, I have become less and less tolerant and interested in simple songs without a doubt. But the point is, if you want to play the game, you gotta learn to play right. And this is exactly what Five Finger Death Punch is doing.
