First of all, it is great to hear this kind of music from a band like this. Orissa definitely gave hope to the next generations of metal musicians with their vast influencing power. You can easily feel the atmosphere, the depth of ideas. Well, I must admit that I personally stopped listening to any kind of mainstream metal music thanks to real artists like ORISSA. Just trust me, and add them to your playlists. You’ll thank me later!

The recording quality of VERSE V is at its best. Top class production. Everything from the bottom to the top, has been constructed very professionally. Just like the layerings in the slice of a chocolate cake. Instruments sound very clean, natural, and this creates this strong mood all along the song. The ambiance is very important for this kind of song, and in my opinion, this is the success of their producer/engineer/mixer. Probably they have worked all together to bring it to this level. Because this is a very specific work with a specific sound, and engineers might not know what exactly the band expect to hear after these processes.

On the other hand, CORISSA has shown a great promise with VERSE V release. This is more than just a song, a small example of these New Yorkers’ capabilities. Beautiful melodies, great ideas, exceptional composition, partitions, decisions, toning, warmth etc etc.. Some parts reminded me of old-school Dream Theater songs too (I must tell you that I’d prefer Dodin’s vocals over James Labrie with no doubt! Sorry James!). This band has earned our admiration and respect. And I am sure there are so many other people who think the same like publishers, agents, scouts as well.

Eventually, CORISSA is highly recommended for progressive metal fans who also like listening to Opeth, Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree, Tool and so on. We, as Metalhead Community Team, wish them the best in their future careers. Thanks for reading!
