Damage – The Album 20 Years Later Album Review

Damage is a band I have discovered through the internet about a few days ago with their new album; The Album – 20 Years Later. The band have actually started their careers back in 94, and had to call it quits four years later in 98. After 20 long years without music, one day they have contacted each other and decided to continue their careers in 2018 and released a full-length album; The Album 20 Years Later. This album includes many things besides the music, their story, experiences, being without music for years, all the ideas, riffs and materials they have stored in this long period. I am a musician myself and I can understand them. This feeling, the excitement of leaving a mark into the music history is an obsession for any musician you can’t live without. Producing is the purpose of life and life is meaningless without writing music any longer. I have listened to The Album a couple times before writing my article and had a great time. From the beginning to the end the album reminded me of the 90’s in every second of it. It is a loud, super dynamic and also a fresh sounding traditional hard rock record that hard rock fans shouldn’t miss.

The recording quality and the production are properly done. Technically, I can easily say that everything is as it should be. As I have mentioned above, the album has a traditional music style with a traditional sound balancing and production (you can feel it both on fast tracks and slow tracks such as Darkness). Compositions are pretty standard with highly catchy melodies and vocal lines. As I have mentioned in some of my previous articles, The Album: 20 Years Later is also one of those albums that should be listened to all the way through. After you do it a few times, you see how experienced these guys are in what they do. They are good at writing, composing and with their instruments. Some people might think that their music have similarities with Guns’n’Roses but actually, they don’t. I think Damage has more minor in their sound besides the romantic vibe in their songs. Darkness is a song that you will feel the difference. It perfectly reflects their potential and gives you a solid idea about Damage’s character. Well, it’s undoubtedly my favorite track from this album and we all hope that this would be the beginning of something magnificent for them. We believe that they have much more they can offer to the rock music world. Recommended to all classic and traditional hard rock fans!
