Today, we will feature a promising progressive jazz-rock band; GEPH, from the USA. We have reviewed their latest album; Apophenia, along with its style, potential, story, recording quality, production rate and more.
Geph certainly is a super talented band who I have discovered through Submithub about two months ago with couple tracks from their amazing latest album; APOPHENIA, released in July 2018. There has been many bands and artists that we have featured on Metalhead Community Blog so far and all of them have had something special and magical about them. But, Geph for me is inside our Top 10 the most special bands list. If you would like to know why, just click to play on their music player below while reading the rest of the article.
First of all, I know that we all have different ideas and opinions about music, and there is no and cannot be just one right explanation for the good one. But, there is a reason for Bach being so important composer and musician since then and why always going to be. Some people study, read and think about music in order to make a difference with their musical ideas, compositions, builds, sound, energy and so on. In this matter, this band is one of those who understood, worked on, experimented, and came to a conclusion about how their own music should sound like. This is not a coincidence but only hard work. Now they have something fresh and interesting to offer. You might or might not like their music, but it won’t change the fact that these gents are trying to something better than usual here.
Once you start listening to the album, you immediately feel their energy. They have successfully combined many different and also fresh-sounding ideas together, and created these magnificent compositions. Not every musician can write compositions like these. Besides, I really liked the recording quality and the production. Everything sounds clean, clear and natural. The energy flow never loses its impact from the beginning to the end. These musicians are above a certain level with their instruments, yet they also have managed taking care of all the technical side of this album by themselves. I can clearly say that Apophenia is one of the very few the best progressive jazz-rock albums I have listened lately. Strongly recommended to every instrumental and progressive rock fan!
In conclusion, we, as Metalhead Community Team, congratulate GEPH for their game changer album; Apophenia, and wish them the very best in their future. Thanks for reading.
