Today, we are featuring a post grunge band; HALFWAIT, from Australia. We have reviewed their latest album; The Official, along with its style, potential, story, recording quality, production rate and more.
Halfwait is a band who took me to my childhood while listening to their latest release; The Official. I am not sure if we have some kind of strong connection with the music we used to listen before. But I believe we all know listening to records at that time were much more meaningful. You start saving money to buy cassettes, discs… Also, listening to an album from the beginning to the end is something that I don’t think the new generation will understand. The Official reminded me of all those good times, of my childhood memories. It was all about just listening to the music and enjoying it, that’s all. Halfwait has the spirit and The Official has the same vibe. I am not sure if it is because of their influences, or we were raised up by the same kind of music, but I enjoyed listening to this brilliant record from the beginning to the end without feeling anything negative at all.
The style is somewhere between rock, metal and punk. They have a positive attitude in general just like The Offspring had. The energy is super high in every song and flows perfectly through the sections. As I have mentioned above, sometimes it is just listening to good music and enjoying it. Actually, this is how it made me feel like. When I go into the details and talk about the composition or the song build or their musical ideas, connections, instrumentations. All these make our complicated world a little bit more complicated and I don’t think it is necessary to mention right now. I know, I am being emotional here. I watched their videos, read about them, checked out their pictures and etc. Everything that I heard and saw created this feeling inside me. They look like they are super humble, cool guys. They seem to be very passionate about music, never have up despite all the unfortunate things happened to them. These things matter in life. This is how we live and how we go on trying. And I respect that.
When we come to the technical side of the work, all I can say that I really liked the recording and the production. The producer certainly made this album shine. I know this album do not require a super specific work such as Dream Theater do. But in the end, you have to have that feeling in your music. It might be the energy, or the atmosphere, sometimes the groove or the mood. Whatever you want to call it. But this special link connects the people to your music. They love your music for an unknown reason. I have felt something like this while listening to Halfwait. As I have tried to explain above, it took me to those times where I was like 15 and super excited to buy some records and listen to them all day, all night. And most importantly, they are sincere with their music. This has also a big role in my positive feedback.
In conclusion, we, as Metalhead Community Team, congratulate Halfwait for their fascinating album; The Official, and wish them the very best in their future. Thanks for reading.
