Moonlight Prophecy is a phenomenal band I have discovered online about a few days ago with their latest full-length album; The Arrival, which was released not long ago on March 30, 2019. Honestly, The Arrival is one of the very few most impressive albums that I come across lately. The band is showing great potential with their musical ideas, progressive compositions, power, energy, and of course with their creativity. The general style is heavily influenced by black, death, progressive, heavy, and power metal, by names such as Opeth, Iced Earth, Testament, and Blind Guardian. The whole album is like an exceptional mix of all these brilliant pioneers. None of the ideas, sections, or songs are standard. I wasn’t expecting to hear something this, to be honest. There are so many things I liked about The Arrival, but what impressed me the most was their authentic musical ideas and progressions. Hands down. They have done an amazing job in this way.
The songs usually contain monstrous guitar riffage, galloping along with some exceptional drumming. Besides all these factors I have mentioned above, Moonlight Prophecy is also showing their advanced musicianship skills on this album. When you take a closer look at their compositions, you will see how complex everything is. And this is what I call, intelligent songwriting. This album certainly is a masterpiece with heavy traditional metal influence that will immediately pull listeners into its world. Exceptional job.
