Today, we are featuring a progressive indie rock band; THE FANGS OF THE DODO, from the UK. We have reviewed their song; Bliss, along with its style, potential, story, recording quality, production rate and more.
The Fangs of the Dodo is another band that I have discovered through Submithub, about three months ago with this song; Bliss, off from their latest album with the same title, released in 2018. I must say that the chord progression and musical ideas in this song blew me away, and I didn’t waste another second thinking whether I should write about them or no. Anyone who thinks about and understands music will respect this band. Sometimes it is not about how popular you get with your tunes or melodies. I personally do not listen to any indie rock for a very long time and I am not planning to start anytime soon. But idealist composers and musicians such as these gents always deserve to be heard. They are the only ones who can build a better future for our most favorite music genre my friends.
The song is full of surprises. Begins with a powerful guitar riff and then takes you to a maze, a super unexpected verse part with a great eastern minor atmosphere. The recording quality is good, but not superb. There are some small issues I couldn’t fully get. Time to time everything sounds powerful enough but I believe there are some sound balancing issues as well. Anyways. The vocalist’s singing style, especially on the chorus section, reminded me of Serj from System of a Down (I believe he is the one who is also singing on verse parts). I am sure he has some roots from the Eastern part of the world. Honestly, the composition that they have put together shows a lot from their potentials. The Fangs of the Dodo is one of the most promising upcoming bands that I have listened to lately. They are dynamic, progressive, and authentic in their own special way. I loved their style and I believe and hope that we will be hearing much more from them in the future.
In conclusion, we, as Metalhead Community Team, congratulate The Fangs of the Dodo for their fascinating song; Bliss, and wish them the very best in their future. Thanks for reading.
