We the Villains is an upcoming band who I have discovered on Metalhead Community Instagram about a few weeks ago with their debut album carrying their name; We the Villains, which was released in 2018. I listened to the full album a couple times before writing my article in order to be sure of what I was planning to mention here. First of all, We the Villains is a band with young ambitious musicians. They have successfully combined all the favorite parts out of their most favorite music and offered us their own interpretation along their own vibe and energy. I would like to congratulate every single one of them for this achievement. This is the beginning of something beautiful and also very meaningful that they can be proud of all their lives.

On the other hand, we all know that there is no mistake in music. I have always been a person who is eager to see everything from the positive side. When I look at this example, it is pretty obvious that the We the Villains is a talented band. Their compositions are not that standard. There are some progressive elements in almost every song along with moments where they also show their skills. This is another positive mark.

The album, in general, has a common vibe. The atmosphere is strong and the energy is pretty much at the same level. In my view, the strongest thing about this album is its professionally recorded and produced sound. If you show this music to someone and tell him that this is a very experienced band, he’d believe you. I am sure their confidence will bring them so many good things in time. This is just the beginning, certainly a good one!

Technically, the album has advanced standards in every way. Everything sounds super clean, clear, natural and powerful. I really liked the production. Guitars sound strong, and have the main role in their music. Drums also sound clear, you can easily hear every single detail in his partitions, which is really exciting. As you might also remember from some of my previous articles, recording drums is one of the most crucial things that can determine the outcome of your work alone. In our time, you can easily record powerful guitars, vocals, bass, and some other instruments but not drums. In this album, I can say that they have a pretty satisfying, also an expectedly good result for a debut album.

Their vocalist has a beautiful tender voice and she performed very well in every single song. Unlike the basis of their music, the vocalist has a clean and a melodic style of her own. In this kind of situations where the vocalist has a melodic and clean singing style, they have to have a proper voice for the job. This is why I mentioned about her voice in the first place. And when I take all these into account, I can say that this is a quite impressive debut album for an upcoming band, where they have made a clear statement with their professionalism. They are talented at what they are doing along with their excellently recorded and presented first product. Recommended for those who are looking for some fresh sounding bands!
